One of my son's favorite things to do is visit our local Fire Department station next to the library in Montrose. These guys are so very nice, friendly, patient and understanding - especially of a little boy obsessed with fire trucks! Every May, Los Angeles County and the city Fire Departments host an Open House day. It's where every fire station opens its doors and invites the community to come in and see the station, meet the firefighters, climb into the driver's seat of a truck and even handle the equipment. We've gone every year except this year since he was two. He's almost three here, just before he became a big brother and was absolutely in love with this experience! This nice firefighter took the time to show him several of the tools and equipment housed in the back of the truck, answer a zillion little boy questions (why is the truck yellow?) and even let him hold that nozzle, which was rather heavy! He chattered about that experience for weeks after! Was just a small moment to this firefighter, but it meant a lot more to my son!

As I'm looking at these photos I'm realizing how much he's changed in just two years. He's still obsessed with fire trucks (he was even a firefighter for Halloween last year), but I've noticed a definite change in his dreams. He goes back and forth now between being a firefighter, a baseball star and a Jedi. :)

This is for my Scraplift the Person Before You and is a lift of JustOwen's cute page "Fire Engine Tour" seen here:

I lifted Jenny (JustOwen) two months ago and got to lift her again. Soon as I knew I was lifting her work, I knew this was the one I was going to do. I had this one on my to-do last time and just didn't get to it. And I obviously have a LOT of fire station and fire truck photos to choose from! Five pages in four days and last night's attempt was probably not my top-shelf work, but I'm happy with the results! (It also didn't help that DH stayed up with me and put on GOT.... I can't scrap with GOT on!!!) Anyway I have a few more pieces of this firefighter paper from Reminisce so will definitely be doing more pages.... eventually!

Also for National Be an Angel Day and National Just Because Day as well as my Hoarders Challenge.
TFL!
