Reading to dogs - what a marvelous way to get little ones interested in reading! Such a warm and happy LO, and amazing use of scraps. Beautifully done! Thank you for the lift, and especially for all your kind words!
Oh my that photo was really what caught my eye. I just had to take a closer look. What a clever dog and how lucky you are to share that special skill with so many. Your paper choices here really compliment his coat and they go together so well. I love the sunflowers and the way the leaves overlap the photo. Simply stunning layout!
Oh my goodness!! Riley looks like he's really interested in the book. :)
This is a wonderful layout. Love the texture created with the different papers in similar colors: subtle, but enough difference to make it interesting. And they really let the photo pop!
A precious layout and wonderful idea for getting children interested in reading more! Love all challenges you were able to meet with this layout. Good job!
Reading to dogs? FABULOUS! I just love the story behind the lo and what a darling photo. The pps you picked are perfect and provide a lot of texture. Such a lovely lo overall.
wow, such a super page and you did one amazing job accomplishing those challenge goals!! I love the golden hues this has!! That photo just pops against the warm glow!
Riley looks like a wonderful reading partner! I love the photo, not just because of Riley but because I love seeing children read. I really like the layering and the muted colors, I see new details every time I look at the page-beautfully done
Adorable page!! LOVE that Riley gets to do this - great for kids especially! There's a dog that comes weekly to our local library too and my kids loved it when they were little! Love your layering here!
WOW (I hit the enter key wasn't quite finished writing my text, Sorry!) this photo is amazing. A beautiful moment captured on camera! I love the papers used they blend in quite well and they add beautiful color to Riley's fur coat. You did well on this challenge!
Riley works one day a week at our local library in the Kids Read To Dogs program. He takes his job very seriously, as you can see.
He had to pass a Canine Good Citizen test in order to be approved for the program, which wasn't really a hard thing for him because he's such a well behaved dog anyway. He adores kids, and they love him back in equal measure.
They always ask when they come in, "Is Riley here?" and I have to say, "Is it THURSDAY?"

Done for several challenges this month ~
#1. Scraplift the Person Before You. I followed Lyn, and I absolutely adored her recent layout "Mini Monsters" which you can see here.
#2. Leftovers Challenge. This one is a serious trick to play because the rule is "you can't use anything new on your project - not even a new sheet for the background. Everything has to come out of your used scraps box. I just grabbed that box and started digging. I was looking for some very specific things because I wanted to stack this particular challenge with two others ...
#3. The 5 things challenge, which this month required ~ an ampersand, flowers, yellow/gold, hexagons, and the word You. Pulled it off, but it was touch and go for a while because I also wanted to make it work for my
#4. AGC Weekly - which is a This or That challenge. Once you choose one thing, you can't use the other thing. At one point, I had built a brown frame around things but realized that I couldn't use it because I had chosen Patterned Paper, and therefore could not use Card Stock. Luckily I had cut out the center of this lighter paper to use for another project where I needed a light colored photo mat. I always cut from the middle of papers when I need to cut a fresh sheet of paper so that I have a potential frame for other projects later. I chose green (not blue), flowers (not chipboard), die cuts (not stickers), and stickles (not gems). So it was a fun challenge all round. I had the devil's own time with the title - because I routinely use thickers and other chipboard for those, but I ended up die-cutting the letters from patterned paper, so that worked out great.
The AGC challenge is lots of fun - fast moving with a challenge every day, but you don't have to do them every single day. You can save them and stack them, like I did here - with an ampersand, a clock, and the word FRIEND. I would have loved to have gotten "Play" and felt onto this, but there just wasn't any more room!
5. I also plan to put this in the Scraplift Your Faves. When Lyn posted the Mini Monsters it went straight to my favorites, so it was right then when I started looking for something to lift in that challenge.
If you got this far, thanks for sticking with me. I love to hear your comments, and I really do try to respond to everyone who stops by. If I miss you, it's unintentional, I promise!
