Journaling:
Rowing two miles (both ways) to an uninhabited island may have sounded like a good idea...except that we underestimated the glare of the sun combined with the extreme heat and humidity which made the temperatures close to 123 degrees. We didn’t factor in that our sunscreen would literally melt off our bodies and that the water would be warmer than a bathtub. We still had a great time but it was a little scary to have taken on such a huge adventure in these conditions. We never dared to snorkel too far off shore which means we didn’t see a lot of sea life. It’s hard to complain though because this is BELIZE! This is the mighty Caribbean! We may not be going out in a canoe anytime soon but the view was definitely 100% worth it!
