Created for the Mixed Media Swap right here on Scrapbook.com. Robin so graciously let me pick our mixed media swap project. Of course, I chose the hardest thing to mail. However, I had a blast creating this project for her. The only thing purchased was the barbie, the rest came from my copious collection of scrap goodies.
The dress structure I created from the Prima fabric pack and structure medium. On her right arm I added a net tattoo with foil flakes and adhesive rub ons. I debated if I should paint the chains on the side of her dress. Then decided they went well with the bird cage.
I gessoed the entire barbie. The metal bits I dry brushed with blue patina paint, the leaves with green paint, and the flowers received varying shades of pink/coral.
Her crown I created from my coffee bag wire closure and Dresden trim. Also, I added Swarovski crystals to her crown and belt. In the vine cluster on the bottom of the back of her dress I also added a shaker. Also, if you check out her hair you may see where I dipped a few strands in 3D matte gel then added glass glitter. TFL
