I made these journals as a gift for a special friend. I left them simple so that she could have fun embellishing them. I cut the covers from chipboard and covered them in Maja papers. I stitched them with waxed Irish linen bookbinder thread using Coptic stitch. The larger one has ruled pages. The smaller one was made with one single large sheet of high quality paper that I ripped in half over and over again until I got signatures of the size that I wanted. I also used some special end paper that looks like tissue but is much stronger.
