Hidden journaling:Here you are, looking and feeling so grown up, wearing your Express shirt with your newly permed hair, braces on your teeth just like most of your peers. I knew you were nervous when we went to pick up your schedule even though you sauntered down the halls like you owned the place. You learned the lessons of middle school scheduling that first day when you didn’t get the art class you wanted. And having math last hour was inconvenient because we already knew you were going to need to leave school a little early twice a week to get to skating on time. We were frustrated by the lack of bus service and no one who would listen to our reasons why it was necessary. Yep, welcome to middle school!
