Stunning!!! Love the colors and various torn, punched, cut and doodled edges, that amazing array of flowers and bling and the beautiful colors that make you b&w photo pop...
I believe this photo was taken in 1951. Based on the cake and the fact that my Grandmother is holding me facing the cake, I am making the assumption that is was my 1st birthday "party". I used some REALLY old DaisyD papers for this layout. I cut the edges of the photo and photo mat with deckle scissors. Flowers were punched with the large and medium flower punch. The black swirls were some old bling from my stash. The centers of the flowers are also OLD bling from my stash. The title letter were cut with Honey Bee's Narrow Upper case alpha dies. The tab "family stories" is from a chipboard collection I picked up at Michaels and is attached to the pull out journaling. I used two different punches for the borders on the yellow and brown layers. I added gold nuvo drop accents. Green leaves were a die cut from Impression Obsession - leafy branches. A lot of DaisyD papers were actually "paper", so I added a brown card stock border background to make the layout a little less flexible. Journal was computer generated and attached to the pull tab that says Family Stories and reads:
I dont remember this day, but it appears that its a birthday party. From left to right: Wendell Smith (my cousin Aunt Ollies son), Grandmother Pace holding me, Alfred Smith (Aunt Ollies other son), Uncle Lester with Mike in front, Aunt Catherine, with Harold and Charlotte in front, Uncle Carl (Ollies Husband) and my mama, Ruth Perdue, holding Randy. I dont know it for a fact, but it looks like it might be a birthday party for meso well go with that! Dont know where the photo was takenbut it definitely looks like a birthday celebration.
