I am still in catch-up mode, as my mind hasn't been quite where it needs to be after multiple losses of near and dear in the past few months. So, I am setting aside my aversion to creating multiples of some cards. All of these are ever so slightly different, but all are basically a CASE of a card Amy Rysavy of Prairie Paper and Ink created in late 2021 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8eufkF4vY8 - it is as close to a triptych as I can come, Amy.
I bought the Etched Tall Leaf Spray die from Simon Says Stamp probably 6 months after seeing the original video, and it took me this long to use it. This is also my first time using my new Ranger Distress Oxide Inks, and I really do like the way they work differently from the regular dye inks. They blend very nicely, and I'm really loving the look.
I used ink smooshing as lightly as I could on the leaf sprays (I didn't have a glass surface to work on as recommended) using each color set along with Hickory Smoke, and then used the lightest of the color sets (Faded Jeans/Speckled Egg, Dusty Concord/Shaded Lilac, Rustic Wilderness/Bundled Sage) to give the background panels the wash. I used Kuretake Brilliant Gold/Gold Mica Ink to splatter the leaf sprays, and I used a mixture of the color sets to splatter the backgrounds, I didn't use the gold on the backgrounds.
Inside the card, I used the negative cuts from the leaves as a stencil and blended the design in the softer of the coordinating Oxide colors and then stamped a sentiment over the top using brighter/darker colors from my SU stash that matched very well.
The front sentiment dies are from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Celebration Words: Script in the coordinating cardstock colors to my SU inks. I used a combo of "birthday wishes" or "best wishes" depending on the inside sentiments I had used.
I finished off with Pink Fresh gold pearls for the card I will be hand delivering, and I used Studio Katia Vintage Sparkle Crystals for the other two which will be mailed.
