Hi There! Those of you who follow me know Im all about the photos on my scrapbook layouts. Yes, embellishments are great, but the photos is why I scrapbook.
One way to make your photos standout is using multiple mats. Its particularly useful when dealing with busy print paper.
This day was full of activity, so I selected a photo or two from the main activities, then grouped them together into a collage. I could have matted each photo on white cardstock, but instead I printed them with a white border. That way I eliminated one step and some bulk.
Mounted my photos on a smaller print paper, then mounted them on a large square of scrapbook paper. Placed the photos to the left, so the brooms would be visible. This also gave me a light area on the right for journaling and my embellishment clusters.
The embellishment clusters provide enough decoration to make the layout look interesting while the multiple photo mats make the pictures the star.
