While on a boat excursion through the jungle in Belize we spotted a pair of spider monkeys. Imagine how surprised we were when one of the monkeys decided to pay us a visit in our boat. He was so cute and friendly.
So many people have told me I’m nuts when they see these pictures - “I can’t believe you touched it – it could have bite you and carried diseases…” But I’ve never been afraid of animals. Even as a child I had no problem feeding wild squirrels and meeting stray dogs. I seem to have a natural instinct with animals. They know they can trust me and I know which ones I can trust. I’ve always loved them.
Needless to say this goes down as one of my all time favorite memories. I mean seriously, how cool is that – befriending a wild monkey in the middle of the jungle with just you, your husband, and a guide.
