omgoodness..tear rolling down my cheek...this is so touching! congrats on bringing your new baby boy home, may he grow healthy and strong and one day look back and know how much he has been loved from the very start!
This is the last picture I took of my husband and our newborn son before we took him home from the NICU. It was a perfect moment. The nurses there gave us a journal to write in while Noah was there for 11 days. He was born quite pale & needed 2 blood transfusions. He was also diagnosed with RDS. The journaling is what I wrote on his last day there. It reads: "Denise called us this morning with great news. We can bring you home with us today! I cried when I hung up the phone. You've never met your siblings, so today will be exciting for them as well. I can't even begin to describe the void I felt these past 11 days, not being able to take you home with me after our daily visits together. It got to the best of my yesterday, and I broke down in front of the kids, Nana, & Vern. You just weren't progressing and so you'd have to stay at the hospital just a little bit longer. That's what the nurses told us for a week. But today, we get to bring you home and now our family is complete."
