I made this LO for April Colors of Spring Challenge. I realize that red isn't typically thought of as a spring color but I just went out to check my rhubarb and it is pretty red so I'm going to enter it anyway. And the pink cherry paper should definitely count. It does have both twists included - metal in the flower's center brad and also the brads used to fasten the tags (which happens to be the other twist.)
I made the two big circles by tracing a plate and then cut them out with scissors. The flourishes were traced onto white cardstock and also cut out with those handy scissors. I then inked them with gold pigment ink for a purposefully unperfect look. I was brave and used my own handwriting to write the title in cardstock sections across the top. I am so proud of myself for that. The photo in the center has acid-free paper doilies cut in half and folded into photo corners. And there is a line of Icicle Stickles (that you really can't see in this image) against the cherry blossom paper strip near the big photo. Finally, I do plan to use the tags. I will write her name in English on the white tag and Kanji (Japanese) on the red (her aunt from Tokyo will have to do that though - or at the very least show me how.) And of course there is hidden journaling involved because I just have to journal on all my LO's.
