Do you remember where you where and what you were doing on 19 April 1995? I do! And at that moment, I didn't realize this spot would affect my world many years later.
On 02 Oct 2016 my family took a little time to visit the OKC Memorial before taking my son to MEPS to say "see ya later" as he went off to join the Army. I can not explain the feeling as you walk through the door way that opens up looking over the reflection pool. This was the second time I had visited, but the feeling was much more humbling than the first. The flood of emotions is overwhelming. Throw in the fact that you are about to send your son off to protect you and your country from the very evil that took so many lives that day. This is such a very special place for so many reasons. My heart swells with pride and fear as I remember this day. It was not until this day that I realized the work my sister in law had done here that day too. As we talked about her job, I she too became one of my Heros~
