Photos I took of my dgd, Helen Grace on New Year's Eve. The background paper is blue Bazzill cardstock. The flower ppr is some I've had in my stash forever - no idea who makes it, but it just looked like flower doodling and was perfect for these photos. The pencil border was cut from the top of a piece of paper and layered on solid red, as was the flower ppr. The letters and the arrow were all plain chipboard that I colored with Copics and then added glossy accents. I added a red scalloped punched border across the bottom of the pencils and then topped that with a strip of the same ppr. I added three blue brads to the scalloped strip and 3 red brads to the bottom of the mat. I also added a little white faux stitching around the large mat. Journaling was printed on plain white cardstock. It wouldn't all fit above the pencils, so I just made to separate blocks and used the SU corner punch to make the shape. Each journaling block was backed with solid red cs and blue faux stitching was added. Journaling reads:

If I’m in my office when you are over at our house, you always ask if you can make a card. Your favorite kind of card to make is a valentine. You love to draw hearts and flowers and you always chose a pink marker, because you are such a girly-girl. On this day, however, I helped you make bookmarks for your Mama and Daddy. You helped me stamp some pretty leaves (green, not pink) and then you wrote on the back of them - “To Mama love, Helen Grace” and “To Daddy love Helen Grace.” Your handwriting is very good for a five year old. Your Daddy loved his bookmark and took both of them home to laminate them. I hope he always keeps them so that when you are grown you can see your 5-year-old artwork. December 31, 2010

Thanks so much for stopping by!
