These are pics from Cassie's violin recital May 25, 2008 at the home of her teacher.

This is an example for my January Four Categories Challenge - Category One ~ Product: Ribbon. I did the twist to use 3+ different ribbons. Near the bottom, I pleated brown ribbon and machine sewed down the middle of it. I used narrow ivory ribbon on the corners of the little certificate, and I used wide wired brown ribbon to make the large bow.

For:
1) The Sewing Challenge with the twist to sew on a photo. Besides the ones strip of machine stitching on the pleated ribbon, I also hand stitched the flourishes - the two at the top around the certificate go onto the photos.

2) January Multi Pic Challenge.

3) January Girls, Girls, Girls - LO #2.

To make the certificate, I scanned the original which was 8 1/2 x 11 and purple. I edited it to sepia and then did the cross process feature on Picasa, which made it exactly match the other embellies. I sized it to 3" wide, printed it, matted it, and popped it up on foam tape. I added the real ribbon over the spots where there was illustrated ribbon on the certificate.
