how on earth did I miss this beautiful creation?? I love your writing as well as your scrapping-the textures and layers are breathtaking and your description captures the wonder of the "immortal" flowers so beautifully!
I didn't even finish scrolling down to admire this before I started marking off the boxes, of "favorites" and "innovative". This is just spectacular: the soft distressing, textures, composition is just wonderful.
Oh this is so incredibly soft and beautiful Natalie and if this is not a winner then I don't know. Absolutely gorgeous my friend. Your peonies are gorgeous and I love how you refer to them as ladies petticoats :)x
So Immortal, and so Beloved. Gorgeous peonies, gorgeous layout and gorgeous story. I love peonies, and harbor a beautiful bush of my own. I can't seem to pass by them or my neighbors without inhaling deeply~so fragile, so fragrant, and so heavenly~ Your layout is so wonderfully done, with the trim that looks like lattice, your frothy distressing and gorgeous foliage! Straight to my favs!
One word fabulous comes to mind about this amazing page of beauty. The wonderful journalling and photo along with the layering are gorgeous. I've always loved the peonies but am afraid its to hot and humid here to grow them. The fussy cutting is of the vine is awesome.
So beautiful, Natalie - I love your writing as much as I love your LO's - love all the textures on this one and the beautiful distressing - this is another FAVE for me I've got to get myself some molding paste - looks like so much fun - I adore flowers too - my camillias are much like your peonies - the ants love them and unless I float them, they drop their petals too, but their beauty makes it all worthwhile.
This is just exquisite!! I love Peonies too, although I have never been able grown them. Love how your lace resembles lattice and your fussy cutting is just perfect...especially the thin tendrils of those vines!! The layers and distressing is beautifully done and the textures lovely!! Beautiful photo of your gorgeous Peonies!!
Truly an EXQUISITE creation! Your layers and the distressing are fabulous; the fussy cut leaves are sheer perfection, adorable little birds and a magnificent photo that is superbly framed! Love all the torn pp pieces and the gauze manipulated to look like flowers...how ingenious!!! ~BEYOND FAVE~
Perfection on a page! I love the subject matter and the distressing you did to add a shabby chic element to your layout. I can really relate to your description about peonies being "immortal," too, because mine were given to my mom by my grandmother and then to me. They're beautiful springtime heirlooms! And they are like a "ladies petticoat."
What a stunning LO, Natalie! I adore the texture you have added, layer by layer. I appreciate your devotion to peonies.....they are timeless beauties, and my daughter's favorite. My FAVE is the star gazer lilly, but peonies are a close second! Sending a big hug to you!
Hello my friends and happy Valentine's Day! Here is another love themed layout about my peonies, a flower I adore! I thought it would be appropriate to share this on Valentines's Day. This page was made for CSI #57 and also for ouas February challenge. For my evidence: flowers, birds, vines, solid background, 10 layers For my testimony I chose to document a love story: "I fell in love with peonies, those overblown, luscious "roses of Spring," when I was a little girl. I must admit my love affair had as much to do with the fascination of watching the ants that crawled all over them, as it did with the huge deliciously colored strawberry ice cream blooms! When I grew up and finally had a garden of my own, the longed for peonies were brought to me by my Mother. Together, we planted a border, digging deeply and enriching the earth, setting the "eyes" exactly one inch below soil level. Planted properly, peonies are said to be immortal. Thirty years have passed. Every June I fall in love again with these forever faithful friends! I cut armloads of flowers for the house, but now I shake off those pesky ants! And then I arrange them into many vases to grace various tables. I continue to delight in peonies luscious layers, so like ladies petticoats! I reflect on their raspberry cream deliciousness until the morning I wake up to discover they have cast their petals all of a fell swoop onto the polished tabletops! And then I cut more........ Mom is gone now, but her gift of peonies to satisfy my heart's desire, remains a lasting legacy. Peonies are immortal!!"
Lots of fussy cutting, paper tearing and layering, molding pastes, and distressing went into this page.
Thank you for looking, and I hope you enjoyed this Valentine to you!
