This is a gorgeous layout. My dh almost missed the birth of our youngest dd because he was underway on his way back from a drydock (he is also Coast Guard). He barely made it, so I can totally understand all the emotions your sil must have been going through.
I will DEFINITELY keep them in my prayers. She (Kate) is blessed to have you in her life since you have walked this road she is facing. I have always thought that it takes a VERY SPECIAL woman to be a military wife. I thank you and your family for the sacrifices you have made for us and our country!
Wow - can't imagine what it would be like to have DH miss the birth of a first child - she must be a strong woman indeed. Great tribute to them both and what they are doing. Great paper, and I love the placement of the offset rectangles. Great job!
My BIL is in the Coast Guard and left for a 6 month tour today, meaning he will miss the birth of his first child. I've been thinking about him and his wife today and decided to scrap this picture taken of them last month as a tribute of thanks to them both for the sacrifice they are making. I went through a similar circumstance when my DH left for Iraq right after Liz was born and it is definately something I wouldn't want to go through again. TFL and please keep them in your prayers!
