Gorgeous work on the flowers. I don't recall this Bible story at all - and I love so many of the Old Testament stories - perhaps I need to go back and read more!
Pictures from my trip to Israel in 2011. Journaling is tucked behind the large photo and reads "Today our first stop was at a place called Herod's Spring. It is the traditional location where the story of Gideon in Judges 7 took place. Here God told Gideon that he had too many men going into battle with him to fight the Midianites. God didn't want the m to win the battle and believe that it was because of their great military might that they were victorious. In order to thin the crowd of soldiers a bit, God told Gideon to have his men drink from this spring. The ones who knelt down to drink from the spring to drink were out and the ones who cupped the water in their hands and drank were in. Out of 10,000 men, only 300 men cupped the water in their hands. They were the ones who were to go into battle with Gideon. It's a tremendous story of trusting God and remembering that God is the one who is to receive all glory and honor and praise. It was amazing to actually see this story from the Bible come to life."
Sketch: my own design
The flowers were stamped, watercolored and cut out to match the colors of the papers.
