Ariel (25)

DD was totally Star-fish Struck when she met Ariel. Ariel had become one of her most Favorite princesses a few months ago. Ever since she saw the movie, she magically becomes a mermaid everytime she takes a bath. Doesn't it melt you heart? Especially any of you mommies who grew up with Disney's Little Mermaid and secret wishes to be one. She and I are now starting to have things in common (from when I was a child) and its a whole new kind of love.

Sorry this picture is terrible. All day long at Disney I tried to take multiple pictures from mutiple angles, for optimum scrapbooking. And so for DD's favorite princess, I made the mistake of asking my hubby to take the picture(s)...assuming he would take more than one. Nope we waited in line 45 minutes for Daddy to get ONE picture....with no mermaid tail and the top of her head chopped off! Urg. I guess it doesn't really matter. Look at that smile...she's a happy girl. But Sheesh Daddy!

I tried a whole bunch of new techniques on this one. I recently saw the idea to make coral out of leaf die cuts. So I had to try it. Also, I had never used seed beads on a LO before, but I saw I recently so I tried that too. They are not very easy to work with and I am noture sure if the effect looks as good as I hoped. Finally, the doily is a technique I picked up from the scrapbook expo. I had no idea that glitter would adhere to an embossed object before it dries. And since the top of the picture was chopped off, I thought I could use that technique to replace the top of the clam shell. I was shocked how well the colors matched up considering I just used what I had at the house. This was an adventurous and fun LO.
