Here's a layout I made for a special order from one of my stepsisters who happens to be the the happy girl on the left! Her father (who I knew most of my life) became my stepfather in 1982, two weeks after my wedding date. He also was the minister who married my husband and I! His wife passed away several years before he married my mom. He was such a wonderful and loving man and it was my privilege to have him for a stepfather. I'm not sure of the year of this picture and it isn't the best quality but I hope my layout does it justice!
I didn't use as many embellishments on this as I normally do because I didn't want to take away from the beautiful Tales of You and Me paper from Prima! I used TH Victorian Velvet and Tea Dye to ink the edges as well as inking over the handmade texture paste using the doily stencil. The lovely lace under the photo as well as the small die cut butterfly are from Pamela Joy's Boutique on FB. The pretty intridate wood chippies are from Scrapiniec. And from my friend Marylou is the little doily under the framed rose and the tiny prills that I outlined the large butterfly with. (I love how that turned out!) The little pearl droplets are from Laura. Thank you ladies!
I did a lot of stamping on this layout. The lattice stamp is from Gabrielle Pollacco. The pretty key was an antique gold and I used Ranger Patina in Nouveau Silver. The little hinges were die cut from what looked like TH Grungepaper and I got them at the local Salvation Army store. There were several in that package and are pretty cool. I used Liquid Pearls to color them in. The bow was my first successful attempt at dying some rayon seam binding that was from my mom's stash and in the original packaging for only $.25!! I used TH Spun Sugar and Tea Dye. The title chippie is from Creative Embellishments and I used Liquid Pearls on it.
