I am a great admirer of AuntyT's beautiful symmetrical layouts and her use of fabulous patterned papers that really compliment her photos. They really appeal to me and their visual impact is fabulous. With this in mind I set out to try and achieve a similar layout, using geometric shapes and sticking to a relatively simple design.

I also wanted to use photos of this magnificent Snow Leopard, taken in a Wildlife Park in the UK. I spent an hour observing and watching this wonderful creature and came away with only 5 usable photos.

I started with a beautiful, high quality rubber stamp of a negative fern design (listed below), and coordinated it with the stitched hexagon shapes to achieve the look I wanted. I created a simple "splatter" background on VB MM paper, using distress oxide inks. You might have guessed by now that they are my preferred inks at the moment....Using a 0.3mm black Artliner pen, I connected the stitched die cut outline of the hexagon shapes for more definition. I also included hidden journaling - for that, I cut around the title tile to create a flap and added a piece of plain Vicki Boutin MM foundations paper at the back. Listed below are items I was unable to find on this website:

Hexagon shapes - Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Hexagons, 9 die shapes
Black stencil - The Dusty Attic, Crosshatch
Fern stamp design on hexagons - Whimsy stamps, Fern Background DA1144
Stamping Platform p Craft Habitat
Green Flower Sequins - Craftelier.com Paillettes (495200)
Heat Gun - Dovecraft Essentials
Leaf shapes (black) - stamps of unknown brand

I also want to thank each and every one of you for taking time to look at my designs and leaving wonderful feedback and comments. Your kind messages have supported me through some difficult times recently and encouraged me to just carry on and do what I love most: be creative and have fun! Thank you so much! Petra
