A photo of my Mama at about age 20...I think it was before she was married, because her hair is still long and she cut it all off after she married my Daddy. My Grandfather (her father) would not allow her to cut her hair! All paper is DaisyD...flowers are prima and the swirls are from Niclindesigns at Esty. Journaling is tucked behind the mat and reads:
The year was 1945. My Mama (your Grandma) was 20 years old. Her full name is Ruth Aquilla Pace. She was born on April 3, 1925. On December 7, 1945, she married Edward Pierce Perdue, my Daddy. Mama's Father (my grandfather) was a Baptist minister. From the stories I've been told, she led a very sheltered life. She was the youngest child of 10 children. I remember she told me one time that when she and Daddy were first married, that she didn't even know how to cook….the story was, together they cooked some noodles one night…not realizing that the noodles would swell up….and they soon had every pot in their apartment full of cooked noodles. Maybe that's why we never had many dishes prepared with noodles when we were growing up!
