I had almost finished this lo when I realized it was historically inaccurate. I had found this photo on the internet and it was in Lee Co., AL...it wasn't until I was doing my journaling that I realized the original Mitchell's Mill was in Harris Co., GA. However, since these two counties share the Chatthoochee River as their border, they may still be one and the same. The two men listed are my 3rd great grand uncles, brothers to my ggg-grandfather. Their grandfather was a veteran of the American Revolution.
The journaling reads:
Columbus Enquirer Newspaper, Harris Co., GA
July 28, 1832
Fourth of July Celebration at Mitchell's Mill
The following gentlemen offered toasts:
Thomas J. ****, and his brother Joseph R. **** and several others.
