Easy to line up for a stunning butterfly (21 April 2019)

I fell in love with a card I had seen with a white-on-white background from Hero Arts Fancy Dies Flower Garden topped with a Hero Arts Color Layering Monarch Butterfly. I thought it would make a perfect Mother's Day card, and was pleased to see that Scrapbook.com had both items in stock.

The die is quite intricate and needed to be cut face up on thinner cardstock. Finally I cut it out of some Showcase adhesive-backed paper for quick application to my card front.

The butterfly was very easy to line up and create a stunning butterfly. I made several in different colors. A layer of sparkly embossing powder would be pretty too, or maybe a wash of Wink of Stella.

Beautiful either cut out or dry embossed (21 April 2019)

Sturdy and acrylics stick well! (10 February 2013)

I'm in the process of trying to organize my acrylic stamps using this product and its tabbed companion. My thought is to separate sets into their different components: critters in one section, botanicals in another, sentiments, clocks and so on. I only ordered one pack of each to see if the stamps stick well, and I can say that the acrylics stick very well -- even the tiniest ones! I'm using the front and back of each page and so far, so good, even putting them in a binder and flipping the pages.

I find however, that the cling stamps do not stick as well. Some do, some don't. I solved that problem by putting a photo page in the binder with those stamps in the pocket.

You can probably write on the tabs with a slick writer or felt pen; but I covered the tabs with washi tape and wrote on that.

Tight fit, should have been included with organizer (08 February 2013)

This product is needed to alter the Portaink organizer slots so that distress inks will not slide to the back and be difficult to remove. I found that not only distress inks, but also my StaZon and Brilliance inks needed back support to avoid a slide into oblivion.

If you use the inserts, be sure to insert them BEFORE you fasten the two sections together. I had a bit of trouble installing the inserts. They just snap in, but they are really tight and my arthritic fingers didn't like the job much.

I suppose you could experiment with stuffing something like a matchbox or slice of sponge into each slot instead. feel that this product should have been included with the organizer itself considering the price, but it does do a good job of making the inks accessible.

Mostly good with a couple comments (08 February 2013)

I have finally acquired enough assorted ink pads to need a way to store them, and there are very few products made to accommodate them. This organizer was expensive, but it got good reviews and I couldn't find a good alternative, so I purchased it. It was easy to assemble and it comes with panels that partially block the sides so that inks won't fall out when you carry it, as well as a soft carry handle

First, know that not only distress inks, but all pads that fit horizontally will need either the inserts that are sold separately, or something of your own device to make the opening shorter back to front. Otherwise the pads will slip to the back of the opening and be difficult to remove. If you use the inserts, be sure to insert them BEFORE you fasten the two sections together. I had a bit of trouble installing the inserts. They just snap in, but they are really tight and my arthritic fingers didn't like the job much.

I was surprised to find that not only distress ink, but some of my other inks did not fit the width and had to be inserted sideways. Hero Arts and Color Box do not fit the width. StaZon and Brilliance do fit.

The base swivels nicely, and the top has channels that hold quite a few Stickles and Liquid Pearls as well as reinkers.

All in all, I was pleased with this purchase even though I found it pricey. I also feel that inserts should have been included for the price.

    Fun stamp! (21 January 2013)

I love Hero Arts stamps for their quality. I ordered this one as part of an ATC I found on the HA blog, and just love it. I can see that it's going to have lots of uses on cards, tags, and perhaps even a light stamp on a layout. I've seen it overlaid with little Tim Holtz gears too -- very cute!

Versatile background stamp (21 January 2013)

Love Hero Arts stamps, and I love to have a variety of background stamps on hand. This one has cute little "donuts" that I used as part of an ATC I saw on the HA blog. Next time I might try coloring in the little centers. Or perhaps just a light background on a layout. I think it's going to be a versatile, go-to stamp.

Second of my 2 favorite papers (20 November 2011)

Bought the kit, plus this extra paper because I couldn't decide which side to use!

Monthly Calendar project pending (20 November 2011)

In January I will start a "year in the life" project, including photos and journaling highlighting each month of the year as it happens. Just received this great kit to use. It includes great papers and die cuts, month words, and even several photo transparencies. Can't wait to get started!

Not sure how to use this product yet... (20 November 2011)

I've been curious about Glimmer Glam since it came on the market and purchased a bottle after I saw that a friend had painted some lace trim with it on a card. I have barely begun to experiment with it, and have only tried it on paper scraps. It seems to add a varnish-like coat, with sparsely distributed bits of glitter embedded in it. I'll have to look at the Tattered Angels site and YouTube to find some tutorials and ideas; but I'm sure I will find lots of fun uses for this product.
