You must live close to me. How long were you without power. We went from 1am Friday until mid day Saturday. We are certainly some of the lucky ones.

Yes, I'm the one with Morgans. Where is it you live that there are lots of Morgans up there?

suggestions for taking photos of your paintings and any movable object----
I have a white foam board 3' high by 4' long. It folds to self-stand; that is, a fold 12" on each side. Most often, I place the foam board on a table, but have shot using a chair or the floor. I drape the foam board with fabric that absorbs light. A couple of textures I've used are a lace tablecloth and a felt horse cooler. There are several example using the foam board in my Sept and Oct and Nov galleries. Now, to offer suggestions for the color question.
First, if possible, use natural daylight for subjects that can be relocated. Place opposite a window or an open door. Next, experiment! Take the same shot with every setting on your camera and try some manual, too. Try with flash and without flash. I often take as many as 25+ shots before I get the angle, lighting and color I'm seeking. Remember, it's digital. Upload, look at them, delete. Go back, try again.
The most difficult photo I've taken lately was the November mini challenge,
darkness. There were lots of problems getting this shot and I didn't eliminate all of them.

Re: my gallery post, mini#1, background. I mistakingly wrote "highlight" for the PE editing----it should have been "overlay". Thanks for your praise. Rita

You asked about the frame and the kit I used--the wood word "frame" did come in the kit. I still have tons of stuff left to use too. Thanks!
