My son received a box of chocolates for Christmas and it was such a nice box I couldn't let him throw it away! It has a magnetic closure under the flap. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with it...paint it, or decoupage it. I ended up using Gesso on the entire outside of the box since it was red. The very last picture shows a before! I ended up using Stamperia rice paper on the top, adding K & Company border stickers since it wasn't quite wide enough, and then their Provence paper collection on the rest of the outside. The rice paper was so pretty I didn't want to add a lot of embellishments to it. I used Mod Podge Matte to attach all my papers. I then decided on the corner diecuts and Reneabouquets Gold Microbeads for the stamen (I think that's what it's called) in the flowers. Special thanks to Lisa (Iluvcats) for the lovely intricate diecut on the lid flap, and Barbara (BAKW) for the swirl diecuts on each side. Trims are from Hobby Lobby and gorgeous butterflies from Reneabouquets. I decided to add a metal handle to the lid flap and used Ranger Victorian Gold and Sandstone Patina to tone it down a bit. This lovely box will stay out in my Craft Palace and I've been thinking of using it to store all my doilies I use on projects.
