What If I am not her true love?

Submitted By: BG Morgan

(this poem is about Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora from the fairytale Sleeping beauty)
What if I am not her true love?
Did I fight Maleficent -in her dragon form- for nothing?
I love her so, but does she feel the same?
What if I am not her true love?
As I make my way to the tower in which she lays
My heart beats.
What if I am not her true love?
Everything around me so quiet; everyone asleep
As I reach the tower I stop.
What if I am not her true love?
I see the door, so nervously blue.
I touch the outline with my fingertip.
I breathe.
What if I am not her true love?
As softly as I can; I open the door.
Whoosh! Just like the wind that comes from her room
my worries disappear.
I forgot how breathtakingly beautiful she was.
The wonderful maiden in the blue dress
The one that shall awaken once I give her a kiss
I walk towards her; no fear inside me
And once I reach her bedside
I do what I brought myself here to do
I kiss her
And just when my lips touch hers...
She awakens.
I am her true love.
