Long Ago and Far Away

Submitted By: Magik

Long ago and far away
From the heavens streamed a ray,
Emanating from a star
Seen by men both near and far:
Shepherds in Judean fields,
Wise Men who'd before Him kneel.

Long ago and far away
In a manger on the hay
Lay the Holy Child, Divine,
Born in the Davidic line...
Born the Sacrificial Lamb
In accordance with God's plan.

Long ago and far away Through the darkness shone a ray;
Christ, the True Light, came to earth
Just as spoken in God's Word.
Let us thank Him for that day
Long ago and far away.
