Questions & Answers

  • I am using the Vagabond to emboss cards. After almost 50 cards, the machine stopped embossing the entire card.
One of the plates I've been using in the sandwich has a few cracks in it. I flip the plate every other time I put a sandwich through. The plate seems to he warped all over the place now.
Is the plate the reason why my card is not getting completely embossed?
At what point do you replace the plates? The information above seemed very vague.   By: Lmrocha2010 (31-Oct-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • If you have warping this could very well be why embossing or die cutting would be uneven. There is not a specific time frame in which plates will have to be replaced. Basically, when you start running into issues is when you should replace them. Dies will cut into the plates but if you are having actual cracks, it sounds like it would be time to replace them. Hope this helps! By: Scrapbook.com (31-Oct-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • This is absolutely normal! The plates are meant to be replaced eventually. In the product description above we tell you how to extend the life of your plates as well. Hope this helps! • I was tired of this gaping to my plates so i started using dryer sheets on the layer to prevent the etching

    • Hi,

I have the flu with complications so I am kind of fuzzy about this and everything right now. Sorry. What I did was call scrapbook.com and asked a lot of questions. The woman who I spoke with was great and guided me through and I got the correct product. They are very accommodating and polite there. Good luck and happy scrapbooking : ). If I felt better I would do more research for you but am feeling crummy. Take care.

Since Cuttlebug discontinued so did its cutting plates, and I need replacements but can't find them anymore. Will these work for Cuttlebug as well? I know someone asked the same question but the answer said they shouldn't be used for Cuttlebug but didn't say whether they "would" work for Cuttlebug... Please help? Thanks so much! :)   By: User (17-Mar-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I found this answer very helpful from another customer.

These pads are not made for the Cuttlebug so you shouldn't use them. When cutting thinlits on a Cuttlebug, however, I found that it would help them cut if I added a shim to my sandwich. This could be a folded piece of cardstock or a piece of chipboard. You just need something to give the thinlits a little lift to meet the rollers of the machine. I hope this helps! • From what others have said these are the same thickness as the B plates for the Cuttlebug but we have not tested them to see if they will work.

    • These Sizzix Big Shot Plates are not meant to be used in the Evolution Advanced machine and doing so will likely void your warranty. Hope this helps! By: Scrapbook.com (30-May-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

Will these work on an Accuequilt machine?   By: User (05-Oct-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I don’t for sure but if I had to guess, I would say no. They may look the same but they may a tiny bit to thick or then. Try looking on the package to see if they work in other machines. I would hate to try and then jam up your machine. Another option is to go to the Sizzix web site and email them your question. They have been prompt getting back to me. • I would like to get a platform for my Big Kick machine that is NOT the "extended" size that came with it - but the multipurpose version only in the "Standard" size -- does this exist? I am not finding the smaller size in any of my searches - other than the magnetic ones and those don't seem to have the flaps for doing the embossing folders etc. This extended version isn't useful because my plates are always the standard size and the extra bit requires extra desktop space to roll through so I'd actually prefer the platform to match my standard size cutting plates if I can find one.   By: Dieverdog (29-Dec-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I didn't see a platform like this on the scrapbook.com website, so I got the magnetic one, which I wanted to try anyway. I just checked the Sizzix site, https://www.sizzix.com/655091/sizzix-accessory-multipurpose-platform-standard, and they have a 9 3/4" multipurpose platform that has the flaps for embossing and all. What is the piece of foam used for?   By: User (20-Dec-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
This question is about a related product.
    • Hi! The foam pad is used with the die brush. You place your die on the foam with the pieces of the cut out paper inside and use the die brush to roll over it and remove those pieces from the die.
