  • Hi to whom it may concern, Im a big shot user, my work space is small and very interested in the big shot foldaway ! My question is it sturdy ? Does it rock or move around your table when cutting a die ? Your response will be much appreciated.   By: Blingqueen (23-Nov-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • It is a great machine. Any die cutting machine will likely move the surface around with use as it does require some force. By: Scrapbook.com (25-Nov-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Does it take the Bigz dies? I have over 50 of just Tim Holtz Bigz dies not counting others, so it is important that any new die cutting machine I buy takes the Sizzix Bigz Dies.   By: scramblinrosie (07-Aug-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Yes, this machine takes Bigz dies. You simply need to use one cutting pad on the bottom and one cutting pad on top of the Bigz die with no platform. Hope this helps! What is the main difference between the folder and a regular big shot? I'm trying to decide which would be a better fit for me.   By: User (06-Aug-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Yes, the main differences are the space-saving design on the Foldaway and it's extra storage feature. By: Scrapbook.com (07-Aug-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • It appears that the folding and the storage capabilities are the only change. I already have a big shot but if I didn't I would buy this. Wish it was available when I got mine I just don't need both. By: nalcmama (07-Aug-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • I have a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot Plus. I just bought this machine, however, description says "machine only". Does that mean it comes without the cutting plates? And if so, will Cuttlebug plates work? If not, what size plates do I need for this particular machine? I am confused because no where can I find mentioned what size plates it takes. Thanks for your help. I'd like to be able to use this machine as soon as I get it and not have to worry about getting the plates for it first.   By: dolores_owen (13-Dec-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Can you used 3D embossing folders with this machine? Do you need to purchase extra pads? What about thin dies or does it come with everything to do thinlets?   By: cmkondrat (01-Sep-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • This machine comes with the platform, standard pads & the thin die adapter. This is my first Big Shot and I’m finding different brand embossing folders require some creative “shimming” by me. I’ve used extra scrap paper and/or a thin piece of foam if I want my embossing more prominent. Die cutting works perfect, but I have to play around with embossing folders. I admit, it can be a little frustrating at times, but I know the result I want. I bought the magnetic platform also which is awesome when using a thinlet. • I have used the 3D Stampin Up embossing folders with the base plate and only one clear plate with no problems. It is tight but works. Since I use my magnetic plate with all metal dies I have not had any problems with those. By: fishlady (03-Sep-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I have a cuttle bug machine and still works great but I am interested in upgrading to a newer one because some dies i have require longer plates and I can't get the plate for the slimline, magic picture changer, etc. Does the Big Shot foldaway have the extended plates to use the slimline dies? All of my dies are from Lawn Fawn and I want to be able to use my dies without having to cut half way and then pass it through to cut the other half of the slimline in worries that it will move the die and mess up my project.   By: Grubbs_Lorena (25-Apr-21) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • The big shot fold away has the extended plates. Also the big shot and big shot foldaway plates are interchangeable. By: My scrapping (26-Apr-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

Hi, I understand folding big shot takes 6" wide paper. Is that correct, and is solid colored paper sold in that width? Thanks.   By: User (08-Oct-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Yes, this is correct. Any paper you use would have to be cut down to the correct width before die cutting or embossing in the machine. By: Scrapbook.com (08-Oct-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
