Great book with a lot of Great Ideas! I'm so glad that I bought it, if for nothing else but the Bazzill Frame Idea.
I normally don't scrap every picture, but after reading this book I'm thinking about creating more complete one subject albums to add all of the pictures.
Thanks again Jill for another Great Book!
I’ve been scrapbooking for years. I’ve bought tons of supplies, used all the tools, and tried all the techniques. I even work in the industry teaching other people how to scrapbook. Needless to say, I was more than a little surprised that an e-book about planning and designing albums and their covers could have such a drastic effect on the way I scrapbook and give me a renewed passion and excitement for creating.
When Jill gave me a peek at her projects for this e-book, I was hit with a wave of artistic inspiration and enlightening “aha” moments, all rolled into one. She showed me how with just a little forethought, you can capture the essence of what is important to you and your family in themed scrapbook albums. Beyond putting pictures into albums and following chronological events, her albums focus on stories, traditions, and beliefs that have shaped her family.
Jill suggests a concept of scrapbooking that is very inviting: begin with a theme or a story to tell and design the album with that theme in mind. She uses the entire album from cover-to-cover as a canvas to fully express and convey the theme. I spent just one evening browsing through her albums and I emerged with a list of ideas 1700 miles long. I literally spent my entire plane ride home jotting down album ideas, sketch designs, and plans for new projects.
Inspiring? Absolutely, but she’s practical too. In this e-book Jill addresses how to choose album themes that are right for you, the steps towards organizing and planning an album, and offers tips and ideas for designing album covers that are theme-centered and artistically enticing.
This book will leave you inspired and motivated to tell the stories you’re meant to tell in a fabulous way!
Being new to scrapping and seeing the enormous collections of embellishments, papers, tools and styles is fascinating but it can be confusing at where to start and which items to purchase. The "I want to try it all attitude" results in purchasing a wide range of supplies but not knowing what to do with them. Having numerous ideas floating inside my head and trying to go through hundreds of photos trying to decide which go where and with what resulted with me getting nothing accomplished. Jill's book gave me direction and insight so I could start enjoying my new hobby. I have finished two scrapbooks so far and plan on many more. I enjoyed reading Jill's book from begining to end and it gave me a resource that I can reference again and again.
Although I haven't read the entire e-book as of yet, what I have read, I have gleaned much knowledge from it. It will be a valuable tool when I put my scrapbook together.
I wish I would have read this first before I started. The information and tips are like a cool drink of water on a hot day. I warn you though, you may finish and have uncontrollable urges to act on your new ideas.Great information with the added encouragement to try just about anything as long as credit is given when appropriate. Thank you Jill--and hubby for sharing your knowledge with us all. kathy
I enjoyed reading this. It was full of ideas to get me organized and started again. I loved all the visual examples. I found were the links to get more information, particularly the album compatibilities, useful. It contains all the information necessary for the beginner.
This is a great resource if you are a new scrapbooker or are in a slump for ideas. I didn't find a lot of new ideas, but I would recomend it to people just beginning. Very thorough, lots of info. I would have liked more info on cover designs.
I really liked that i could click on the picture and it linked me to back to the website.
