I received this tool and I use it Every day. Now when I am making cards I can stamp things going straight, not curved and then I have to throw it away!
It is saving me money. Thank you so much for this invention.
The only suggestion that I would make is would it possible to have the laser going across and down? That would make this tool a 5+++.
This is the coolest tool/toy ever. I luv hand journaling and this just made that easier. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to add a ruler across the top arm as well.

I bought this product in the nick of time, right before I started to create my Christmas cards. I first design each and every one, so they are unique and each friend or family member gets a personally made card. Then I start placing different scenes, embellishments and Saying such as Merry Christmas. Usually I am using different size rulers, to mark and place everything straight, took a very long time. Now I place the Laser line where I need it to be and place everyting, 100% straight. It is easy and I marval how fast I can not make my designs come to life.
I am looking for other tools to help the laser become even easier to use. Merry Christmas all. Mary L.
I have used it for journaling and brads, plus when doing a birthday card in which I needed to have my layering straight. Thank You so much !!
Most definitely would recommend to my friends...which I already have.
This is the tool I have been waiting for! It will speed up my page layouts and card layouts considerably. I have struggled with getting stuff straight in the past. This will eliminate that struggle.
I do a lot of scrapbooking jobs for others so I appreciate the ability to have the laser to make straight lines for picture placement, embellishments, & lettering. I have made a few suggestions to the company for some "upgrades" to a future model. I can honestly say that I am so GLAD I bought it!
I work for a laser alignment company and for years I've thought how nice it would be to have some kind of inexpensive crafting laser to do alignments for scrapbooks, cards and other projects. So I was pretty excited when I saw the KellyCraft Get-It-Straight Laser Square. In theory, it's a great idea, however I was pretty disappointed when I saw the actual product. I'm sure glad I didn't pay the full retail price for it, but it's NOT worth what I did pay for it because it's just going to sit on a shelf unused. The labels were all peeling off (of course you can pay $20 to get decorative "skins" to cover the peeling labels) and the structure was flimsy. It needs a base so the paper doesn't slide underneath and I found the laser line to be "off" by 1/8". Maybe it's like buying a car the first year and it will improve with subsequent versions, but as the product is now, it's NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
I read reviews and watched videos on this product for quite a while before ordering. Based on other reviews, I was extremely careful installing the battery, so as not to cause the laser to wiggle. However, even being careful the laser wiggles at the top and bottom of the vertical ruler, causing the laser light to vary from the right to left. Also, between the 6 and 10 inch marks, the laser is difficult to slide and I only have light for about 6 inches, rather than stretching all the way across a 12 inch page. I'm in contact with scrapbook.com customer service to return it. This is just too expensive a tool not to work properly, and I even purchased it on sale. Very disappointing.
I love my KellyCraft Get-It-Straight laser square!!! It is the greatest scrap tool! I am able to stamp my titles straight on the page the first time, no more starting over and wasting paper. The laser line shines right through my clear, acrylic block and allows each letter or word to be stamped completely straight. I can also get all of my paper and mats lined up perfectly. I truly don't know how I ever scrapped without it, but I know I never will again! This is a must-have tool for any crafter!
I used to not worry about whether something was straight on my pages or not. I am certainly not one to pull out a ruler! But this tool is great. I hot glued tiny magnets on the bottom of it and it is not secure on my We R Memory Keepers magnetic mat. No sliding around. Just there on the side to keep me on track!
I saw the video for this when it was just a prototype and I became very excited because no matter how hard I try I cannot line things up straight! Well now I can! A little pricey but hey it's a new product and they always tend to be a little pricey. Thanks for inventing this!
The laser square is awesome! I have used it for scrappin', of course, but also for quilting. I'm sure I'll find some other uses for it as time goes on. Very handy tool to have in my "toolbox"!
While the idea is great & I will use the laser from time to time, I find the quality to be very poor. This unit is pretty expensive at full price. It is very cheaply made (the plastic is very thin) & my stickers were also bubbling & not on straight. I'm beginning to think they put them on that way so you'll buy the skins. I don't want the skins & I think those are too expensive for decoration. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this product strictly due to the fact that for that much money, it should be much better made than the current version. Also, as someone else mentioned, paper easily slides under the unit so I'm constantly straightening my paper. I'm going to do the same thing & put magnets on mine to use with the magnetic mat. Thanks for that idea! It's a perfect fix!
...BUT, I think it needs to have a solid base on the bottom. I am using a self healing mat from Creative Memories to bring the paper up to where it won't move around and get under the level. I think it needed to be designed more like a score pad. Also my tape was all bubbly, and when I removed it to straighten it, it tore, so I ended up ordering a set from the manufacturer, which was overpriced, but I wanted it to look nice (a little obsession of mine).
I was so excited to finally try my new laser square tool however I have tried to use it twice, both times on dark paper backgrounds and the line fades away and cannot be seen. I am so disappointed as I am not all that good at getting my titles straight and the other reviewers are obviously finding their tools very helpful. Maybe when I use it on a light background . . .
I agree with other reviews regarding the quality - for the price, even the sale price, it should be a product made from heavier material instead of just a fancy ruler. The battery compartment is almost impossible to open - the cover does not slide out as it should. But, I agree, the concept is great - I just think the price should be much lower for the product. I have to return mine - because the battery connection seems to be shorted out unless there is a lot of pressure on the connection.
i bought this tool and I use it as it says, lining my cutting mat up inside it. But I noticed the laser is not laying along the cutting lines on my mat. The laser itself is off kilter! So dissapointed!
