The Rock Candy crackle paint crackles as it dries like the other crackle paints but it's a less intense crackle--more subtle and it seems to me more authentically distressed looking. I really like using this. And, you can put it over any of the distress inks/stains/paints if you want that color to show through.
I love this paint! It leaves a beautiful finish on anything which looks just like it's name: rock candy. The only thing that would make this product better is if it actually tasted as good as it looked! Tim Holtz creates the most amazing products...this one is one of them!
I bought some of this and I just love it! I love the way that you can put it over a colored paper, paint, inked, distressed stuff and it just makes it pop. It gives it a glossy cracked look that I love! I would highly recommend it because I plan on getting more soon!
Oh my timmy tim! You did it again! I absolutely love this crackle paint! I used it on a Cinderella Layout for one of my Disneybooks and it just made the border pop like CRRAZZY! Thanks tim & Sbook.com for a wonderful product!!!
I came across this product a few days ago and thought humm this could be interesting, I've so far only used it twice but love it! I'll be using it more! Look forward to buying other colors sometime as well!

Did you know you actually get a piece of rock candy with the jar!! How fun is that! Application and drying time way less than the crackle accents. Then rub in a darker stain and walah! Wonderful product
This stuff is great! I have in the past used other two step crackle paints and the result is never guaranteed. With this clear crackle paint you are sure to get a crackled result!
A wonderful product for fast ageing of papers and such. Love the fact that you can use color on top of this to make it look as if it's the actual color of the piece you're making.
This is the cooles crackle paint ever! I really like how you can crackle over photos and embellies! I love using this stuff! I especially like to ink over the crackled finish!

I used the crackle paint on medium weight cardstock and was disappointed with how it turned out. I did not get big crackles even though I thought I had coated the paint on heavily per Tim's video. I tried one without using the heat gun and one with the heat gun. I only got really small crackles using the heat gun that could only be seen after I brushed Ranger dark walnut ink over the surface of the crackle. I was looking for some larger crackles but never got them. I plan to try a heavier weight cardstock and really goop on the crackle paint in my next effort using the clear rock candy. If anybody else uses this and gets good results, I'd love to hear what I'm doing wrong. I love Tim Holtz's videos and Ranger products!
I haven't had the best results with ANY crackle product. Don't know why...but they either chip off after drying, or turn a weird color most of the time. I guess it could be the paper I've used...if anyone can give me a clue, I'd appreciate it. But for now...won't be buying anymore.
Colors are not true to their name, crackle really doesn't work out all that well. Applicator is horrible. Really wanted to believe in this one but very disappointed. But do like the distressed inks, just not the crackle paints. So, save your money!!
