I love, love, love my cameo! It is soooo much better than the cricut expression I shared with my sister. The cuts are so much more precise and the Print 'n' Cut feature is so fabulous. I've had the machine since April 2012 and I'm still learning new things that it can do! I love the sketch pens too! The program is free and easy to learn (quite similar to Sure Cuts a lot or Make the Cut)--but does require the use of a computer. The great part of this is that there are no crazy expensive cartridges to buy. You can make your images (which I've done using the trace function in the program) or buy individual images/files from the silhouette store. Easy Peasy!
Granted I was already familiar with die cutting machines and programs, but I was able to cut within an hour of opening the box. Awesome!
The only sort of negative thing I've found is the mats are more expensive than the cricut ones. But the cricut ones can be cut down to the size of the silhouette ones and they work just fine in the machine. :)
The blade is also expensive, but I have yet to replace mine-it's lasted 8 months of regular use. Better than the cricut. :)
I 150% recommend this machine to anyone and everyone. Best tool I own!

I've had the Silhouette original for several years and when the Cameo came out, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! I've had my Cameo for about a month now, and I LOVE it!!! It's quieter, quicker AND I can cut 12 x 12 with it! I think I've used the Cameo on every layout I've done since I bought it!
I also have the Quikutz Epic, the Cuttlebug, and the Quikutz's Revolution. The Cameo is BY FAR the best ever! It is SOOOOO easy to use. Need a new design...just pop over to the online store and you can get anything you want for $.99!! Several times a year they have sales when everything is $.50 per item. You also have the option of getting a download card for a monthly fee and download unlimited files for the one fee.
PLUS...you can cut almost ALL the fonts already on your computer...and DESIGN your own designs...how cool is that!!!
Okay...have you guessed?...I LOVE MY CAMEO!!

I own the Gazalle, KNK, eCraft, Cricut Cake, Expressions, Imagine and now the Cameo. Yes, I'm a machine junkie. Out of all the machines, this is my absolute favorite. It cuts beautifully, and the PNC (Print 'n Cut) is to die for. The PNC's cut out accurately with no white space on the edges of the cutouts, unless you want it, and leaves no extra color on the negative.
Yes, this is my go to machine for just about all needs. The only thing it does not do is cut heavier chipboard, but cuts cereal box weight with ease. I'm done with purchasing carts, and machines that do not work as promoted, such as the Imagine. I just can't say enough about this wonderful machine. Except, you could spend a couple of thousand dollars on a machine with the abilities of the Cameo. This is one sweet machine. The big plus, you'll be able to use your own designs!
Don't hesitate, click the buy button, and be prepared to be amazed. I'd give it 10 stars if there was an option.

I love the Silhouette Cameo had it for about 3 months now. I like that fact I can use any kind of fonts on my computer to cut with it. I also like the fact I can make my own shapes etc... It took a little bit of time and figuring out the machine. But now have idea how to handle it. Almost got the cricut machine. But glad I choose this one. Since I am a graphic design major it works good for my other type of artwork. I just order a matte, another blade and a dust cover for my machine. My matte and blade are still in good working order. I just thought it would be good idea to have extra matte and blade on hand just in case.
It does sometimes tear up paper but you just have to play around with the speed and pressure and figure out what works will with your paper. All in all this machine does the job.

It took a few days of tearing paper and cursing, but I have grown to absolutely adore my Cameo. This is my first electronic die-cutting machine. I was trying to decide between the Cricut (since it was $249 at a big box store) or the Cameo. Every review and article I read said to go with the Cameo. Not only will I save money over time by not purchasing cartridges, but I can make my own designs and have them print the color and cut to the exact size that I want!
Be sure to watch LOTS of You Tube videos, and I would recommend getting an extra mat if you're going to do many duplicates (like for cards, packaging, etc.). That way you can have a mat on-deck while you're cleaning off the other mat.

I am happy with the machine but was not happy with the description on Black Friday, It says starter bundle but was not what I though. I had to purchase the designer edition to be able to use the machine to what I wanted which was using the svg cuts. I thought being a starter kit this would have been included. To me you should have said does not include. After ordering it and getting it I then found out that I could have ordered it from other places with this edition included for the same price. Thank you nd I do like the machine and the fast service.
I am not really into machines and I have never been really into die cutting either BUT I was sold on the Cameo because it could do so many other things like cutting heat transfer etc. And I am so glad I decided to go for it. This is the BEST large scrapbook purchase I have ever made! I love how easy and user friendly it is. I was up and running in no time at all. I love how many different crafts you can do with it (heat transfer, rhinestones, fabric ink, papercrafts etc!). I love how detailed the cuts can get and how you only need one blade and can adjust that blade so easily! I love the 12x12 capability. I literally have NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about this AWESOME machine. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

This is my very first cutting machine, and I can assure you it is money well spent ! It captured my attention because I didn't need to buy any expensive cartridges, though I could buy some designs online.
The main quality of the machine is the freedom of creativity it offers : you can design anything you want and the machine will cut it ! You can check my gallery for examples, I made tornados, algae, waves, etc. It's very easy to use, and frankly the quality of the cuts is very good.
I honestly didn't think I would use it so much and so easily, but I do !

I have been thinking that I wanted some sort of die cutting machine for over 2 years now, but kept holding off because I didn't want to have to purchase all of the cartridges. And then to think about taking them with me when I go to retreats was just too much for me! This is the perfect solution! I haven't used it all that much yet, but it was very easy to set up and pretty user friendly. If you know computer software at all you can figure this out. I can't wait to use it more!!!
I am in LOVE with my new Cameo Silhoutte! Simple to use for anything I want to make! I have never die cut anything before or owned any kind of a machine before this Cameo! So simple to use and I can make anything I want. I am using it for my daughter's wedding planning and we are having fun with it.
It is also handy for cutting out my quilting pieces!
I'm in love!
Thank you for the person who invented Cameo!
I've waited & dreamed for years of owning an electronic cutter, and have researched all of them. I am so thrilled I was able to get the Silhouette at this time when it has gone a full 12" wide. I dove right in and played with welding text and was *amazed* at how wonderfully it cut out. Very, very happy with the Cameo!
I had the cricut expression and the personal. Sold both and now I am a proud owner of the Cameo. NOT Looking back. great choice. NO need for cartridges, gypsy, and not my circle are circles. The ability to cut any True type font is unbeatable. AND it takes so much less space than all the cricut things.
This is my first electronic cutter. Learning the ins and outs of the software has been a bit challenging...but there are a lot of resources online from YouTube to forums. Definitely worth every penny. ..I suspect I can't even imagine all it's capable of!!
Just hooked up my cameo. I am amazed at how well it works! This is my first "mechanical" device that I've bought. I love it! It is cool enough to impress my eight year old. We are looking forward to using this to make our scrapbooking spectacular!
I was so excited to be able to finally have all my fonts that are downloaded on my computer available-already cut out and ready to go when I needed them. I'm still learning about the product and different options but so far it's been great!
I am still learning, but having a lot of fun with it. Basic importing and cutting are supper easy. I have never used any other cutting maschine so I can not compaire it to another. But I am happy I purchased the Cameo.
I am so glad I purchased the Silhouette Cameo. The cuts and details are so precise. Most of all there are no expensive cartridges to buy.
i love the fact you don't have to buy cartridges for this machine. you can buy the design you want, which doesn't cost much.
I am in love with this machine! I own a Silhouette SD and a Pazzles Inspiration. After only a day with the Cameo, I'm already cutting more with less trouble than a year and a half with the Inspiration. Yes, the Inspiration has a higher cutting force and will cut heavier materials, but it's so much of a headache compared to the Cameo.
Comparing it to the SD, it's just amazing how much better it got. I used my SD quite often and was very happy with it. The Cameo is just leaps above it though. The new blades cut so much better. I've been able to cut Bazzill paper in a single pass and I'm only halfway up on the new blade numbering system. It's great! I like that the lid closes magnetically. The only thing that has a bit of a learning curve is loading the mat. That was a bit easier with the SD but I'm sure once I get the hang of it, it'll be a breeze on the Cameo. I just LOVE this little cutter!!!!!
I have done more with my silhouette machine in these last 5 months, than I did in the past 10 years with my "other" 3 machines. The print and cut feature is nice, and now I learned how to insert my pictures into any shape I want, with much more to add! Awesome! If you plan on buying the silhouette, do be sure to also get the designer edition software at the same time (and the spatula, very important!), and be patient. Play around with the machine for a couple of weeks, and you'll soon be creating beautiful works of art. :-)

I called this review better than the original, not because the original wasn't good, it was great. But this Cameo, WOW!! I love it! Quieter than the original QK Silhouette, love that it self loads. Just a great machine.
I have noticed though, that it has a hard time reading the registration marks on heavily textured card stock. So, I just print on the other side.
I had friends who were showing everything they were making. This is awesome!! It is a commercial machine rolled into a small package.
I understand the electronic equipment I am ordering was manufactured to run on electric current available in the United State and Canada. By using this equipment in any other country I void the warranty with the manufacturer as well as Scrapbook.com. I have no recourse and accept full responsibility should the equipment fail to perform as it should.
I just received my Silhouette a few weeks ago and was so pleased that everything advertised was in the box! I have only done a tiny (cut out some lettering) bit of cutting, and so feel the time is premature for an actual proper review. It is evident that this machine has a lot of potential and I can hardly wait to get to it!
I love this machine! It was easy to install, easy to use and I've used it every day since I received it. I can't wait to learn ALL of the features. The only draw back is the instruction manual. It's very vague and does not provide a lot of detail. I'm learning the majority of things on UTube.
The rollers on the product are very very difficult to adjust. I have arthritis and I have to get someone else to do it for me which is inconvenient. I love the product but it is very complicated. Fortunately they have many good tutorials
I have read all the instructions and reviews so I thought I would try to cut out something. I printed out a word from the silhouette site and put in regular cardstock like it says on the machine and set the blade to were I was supposed to and when it was finished it had cut right through the mat and was all jagged and messy. So I took the paper off and cleaned up the mat best I could. I have been watching all the YouTube info on the computer. I will have to purchase another blade and mat before I can cut anything that will be for my scrapbooking.
