Description & Details

Please note: Once you pour the specialty Minc toner ink into the stamp pad, it will only last for approximately 2-3 hours and about 125 stamp impressions.

If you're a fan of foil, and your Minc is a must-have in your creative process, then you're going to flip for the new Minc Toner Ink Stamping Kit! This amazing little bundle of products is designed so that you can use your favorite stamps and specialized Heidi Swapp Toner Ink for getting fabulous foiled designs on all your projects!

Contents:

  • 1 dropper bottle of toner ink that contains 2 fluid oz of ink
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 stamp pad holder
  • 2 refill stamp pads

For quite a while, Minc enthusiasts have been positively dreaming of a specialty ink for the Minc - and those dreams have finally come true! You will love the endless possibilities when you combine the magic of stamps with fancy foils and the hot Minc tool!

How to Use the Minc Toner Ink:

  • Your Minc (sold separately) should be at its hottest setting of 5.
  • Choose paper that is very smooth with tight fibers.
  • Insert a new refill stamp pad into the stamp pad holder.
  • Using the included measuring cup, pour 15ml of toner ink into the stamp pad. Allow to sit for 15-30 minutes before you start stamping so that the toner ink becomes slightly sticky.
  • If you're using a stamp for the first time, stamp it into the ink and then onto a scratch piece of paper 2-3 times so that the stamp becomes slightly tacky for your project.
  • When your stamp is ready, tap it into the ink lightly to transfer the toner ink, then press down firmly onto your project. The Ink should sit on the surface and not soak or absorb into the paper. Make sure you ink up your stamp for each impression on your project.
  • The stamped images must be completely dry before you send them through the Minc. You can use a heat tool to dry the images quicker or just let them sit.
  • Place your project in a transfer sheet with your foil (both sold separately) placed over the stamped image, shiny side up. Place into the Minc and the rollers will pull it through.
  • Lift the transfer sheet to reveal the beautifully foiled image!

Important reminders:

  • Once you pour the toner ink into the stamp pad, it can be used for approximately 2-3 hours or 125 stamp impressions (whichever comes first). Keeping the saturated ink pad in the case can extend the life of the toner ink up to 12 hours based on climate conditions.
  • When you're finished stamping, the saturated ink pad will need to be disposed of - replace it with a new, clean refill for next time! Need refills? Find them here fast!
  • Use the Minc Stamp Cleaner (sold separately) to clean your stamps.

We can't wait to see the designs, sentiments, images, and more that you stamp and foil!

    4 stars with a caveat

I love the Minc system and have used it a lot with a toner-based printer and I have been extremely pleased with it. So I jumped at this as I had stamps I would foil given a chance. Here's the thing that's the caveat: this liquid toner dries fast and you have to put it into a special stamp pad to use it for which they gave you an ink pad case (center of photo) with an ink pad in it and 2 replacement ink pads. The paper instructions say that when the ink pad is dried out, throw out the dried one and replace it with a new one. So I put the toner on a Q-tip and timed it. At 5 mins the toner was still damp and it transferred well onto a paper. At 10 mins it was dry as a bone.

This is not a Game Over for me -- well, couldn't anyway because I opened it. BUT definitely the ink pad with toner on it needs to be in an airtight container. and you must work fast. And Heidi Swapp better be planning on selling new pads and replacement toner at a more reasonable price. Here's hoping the StaZon ink cleaner can get the toner off of my stamps!

  • A waste of money!

You can easily accomplish the same thing by purchasing any powdered laser toner refill, for about $8, empty sponge stamp pads, about $1 a piece, and there you have it! Actually, I didn’t even bother buying empty sponge stamp pads; I just cut up sponges and placed them inside a cheap dollar store plastic box!

    Jury is still out!

Was so excited to get this thinking it would be a great "additional" use for ALL my stamps...and I have a lot of them. There are no instructions in the box, but I thought it would be pretty self explanatory...just put ink on pad...stamp on paper...and foil. Well, didn't work quite that easy...only parts of the stamped area picked up the foil. I tried doing it right away and waiting for the ink to dry, but neither was really satisfactory. I will see if I can view a video and see if I was doing something wrong. Also the ink pad can't be saved for later or anything so you have to do a bunch...it says within two hours. I guess it just wasn't exactly all I had hoped it would be.

Not as fabulous as I thought but is ok

It is real messy so be sure to prepare for this and protect your surface. The image has to stamp real clear and the ink even all the way across so if one spot has less ink etc the image doesn't foil correctly. This being said the only way I can do this is to use a stamp positioner because I am just not a good stamper, fairly new at it, and the pad will not stay put it falls out of the base when you invert the pad upside down. You also need to not stamp a bunch of images and then foil the ink will dry on you and it will not work. So it is very time-consuming and a hit or miss as to rather or not it will work. When it does work it is just beautiful and a great concept. The idea of being able to foil any stamp is great I just don't think this is for me. I will try it again though, I have it so I am sure going to at least use what I have and we will see if I get any better before the end of the bottle.

    Poor Marketing/Use information

When I saw Mary Beth Shaw use this in a Gelli demo I thought how beautiful and great the idea of foils with printing. So I ordered the machine, tried to figure out how to use it, NO INSTRUCTIONS OR TIPS, had some results. No toner pen no extra toner ink included, just three tags preprinted and small pieces of foil and the transfer sheet to put the paper through the machine. Had to try a few times to figure out the temp for the thickness of the tag. Again no tips or instructions. Then I try to order the toner. NOT available most places until I saw the KIT here. Good thing the tips/instructions are posted here and I printed that off so I can have it handy. YES you need to work fast and PRE MEASURE the piece(s) of foil you need so you don't waste any. It just seems this could have been presented as you as you order and that a WHOLE kit comes with the machine. Not just bits and pieces. I know I will enjoy trying to make beautiful cards but I will not recommend this to my card making friends. It was hard to give this 3 stars but I did. GOOD LUCK THOSE THAT BUY!

    TONER

It is a great product but tricky to use. It takes several tries to make
    finished project acceptable.

    Did not adhere that well

I bought this because i really really wanted it to work and it just did not. I am an experienced stamper so I tried multiple times and different ways to get this to work and it just was not good. I wish I could attach a pic. It looks really distressed so even where there is black toner ink on the stamped image the foil just doesn't adhere to all of it because I am assuming its not thick enough on the paper. The issue tho is that the image looks perfect on the paper but the foil just won't stick to some of it. If you don't mind the black ink showing in parts then its fine.

    Minc Toner ink : )

The Minc toner ink is as easy to use as TIm Holtz showed in an Instagram video. No measuring. No waiting. And the toner ink works beautifully.
Also, Scrapbook.com shipped it fast, which was also really nice.
