The colors are very nice but transparent. The ink flow is generous and sometimes pools at the base of the tip so you have to blot up the extra before it drops onto your paper. The tips on both ends are very flexible and hard to control to make distinct thicknesses of upward and downward strokes. These pens make learning brush calligraphy very difficult and frustrating. I have switched to a firmer brush pen and have had much better and faster learning experience.
