Here is what our amazing customers are saying about the Mini MINC Foil Applicator Starter Kit:

"Right size, right price. This MINC machine is perfect if you have a very limited workspace. The machine gets a bit hot (of course), so you might want to use this on a surface that is heat resistant. I also use this in the kitchen for plug/watt set up in the kitchen that can handle any appliance that eats up the wattage. It makes a funny sound (the type you get from a music box) one time it was really loud, but the last time I used it, the sound was kinda faint. This is also perfect for small projects. I just wish they have more good deals on the foil as I use them quite a lot. So far so good, I even bought one more as a gift." - epicCrafter

"I am having such a great time with this new toy! I have used with some of the MINC pre-printed package items and I love them. I made a pennant with my niece's name and secured the "greatest auntie of the year award" yet again. I was not sure how many things I would really use this for, but now that I have it, I need to control myself to not foil everything I print. It is loads of fun, easy to use, and the small size is perfect for creating something really fun, very quickly." - JanaBradshaw

    exellent

I love this machine. It's perfect size for card making. I also bought the toner pen so when I want to do small areas, rather than go through the whole ordeal of printing with the laser printer, I color in or trace the area I would like to foil. Makes stamped pictures so pretty.

    Great Solutions for Quick Applications

The 6" Minc is perfect for small foil applications. Since I use foil mostly for sentiments and borders, I am very pleased with the results. Minc is easy to use and the small footprint makes it easy to carry to crops and to store in my studio.

    Minc Mini Works Fairly Well

Have used this machine twice now and it is always fun to peel the foil off and the see the magic that has happened. It is very quick to heat up, only taking about a minute before it is ready to use for a heat setting of 3. Have heard that regular laminators can take up to 20 minutes to heat up, Gets very hot on the left side of the machine, but not as much on the right. Has given off quite a burning smell both times I have used it but it is supposed to stop doing that after a couple uses according to the instructions. Takes some time to cool off, about 45 minutes or so before it is mostly cool to the touch. I like that it has multiple heat settings on it as well as a no heat setting which can be used when you just want pressure but no heat.

Have used several different pre-printed items in it such as a 6X6 Christmas paper pad and some snowflake cut-outs and they all foiled quite well. Most items foiled completely without any spots where the foil did not adhere. Only had two items where there was a few tiny areas of black toner showing, and that was with the snowflake cut-outs that are die cut to the shape of the snowflake. But it was not enough to make me consider the items unusable. The ones that were snowflakes printed on an almost chipboard like thick white paper did excellent, as well as the 6X6 papers.

Tried cutting out several things using the toner sheets that are completely black. As another reviewer mentioned, they did not work as well as the pre-printed papers and die-cuts. But still they worked out OK. Cut out several images from a Cricut machine and they foiled quite well overall but around the edges of the cuts there was some black parts that did not foil. Also used a Cuttlebug to cut out a die shape and that one did a much better job of foiling all the way to the edge, although it was not perfect. Even so, it was still a very pretty and shiny die cut that I will use for something. Have not used the machine for laminating yet but assume it will do a good job. Was thinking of using it to take recipe cards with family recipes written on them and laminate them to put into some kind of recipe box for Christmas presents.

    Mini Minc

Love my Mini Minc. It’s small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space. It foils beautifully. Much better than my laminator. It’s great for card making. The only thing is that you must feed your carrier sheet in perfectly straight & center or it will jam in the machine. Ask me how I know. Luckily I purchased extra carrier sheets. So glad I bought this.

  • I have the MINC machine and I haven't used it for a little. I foiled a sentiment yesterday and the foil completely covered the whole page and you and the sentiment was not readable. I had the setting on 3, was that too high for to use. The sentiment was printed on Neena Classic -- was that too light weight wise as foil ended up been on the carrier sheet as well as completely covering the cardstock.?   By: CraftCreations (24-Sep-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I realize you asked this a long time ago but just in case you haven't found an answer, you didn't say if you had the mini minc or the Big Mama, a setting of 3 is usually great for the mini minc. The large machine typically needs setting four When you say you foiled a sentiment, if a sentiment was printed with toner ink, and it foiled the entire piece of cardstock, it sounds like you may have used hot foil rather than toner foil. Is that a possibility? Hot foil is designed to be used with the metal foil stamps in machines like the spellbinders glimmer machine, or the Gemini foil press. Where you heat the metal die (not a cutting die) on a platform along with your foil and the cardstock, then you pick the machine platform up and run it through your die cutting machine just for the pressure. That type of foil can't be used on a toner printed image that you run through the minc machine. You need toner for foil for that. By: Stampindebs (15-Mar-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
