Does the floral part always stamp with the date or can you just stamp the date without the floral part?

The floral is not removeable so it will always stamp with the date. The thing you could do is masked it off if you didn't want the floral to show.

Do you think it's possible to unscrew or cut off the floral part? I would never use it. I want a rotary stamp that's strictly dates and I can't seem to find one.

You could try, but you run the risk of ruining the stamp and then it not working right. If you want just a date stamp, you might try an office supply store, that's where I got mine. Good luck!
