This Pink Rotary Paper Trimmer is part of the EK Tools Collection from EK Success. This rotating trimmer cuts paper up to 15" across with its ruler extension. This extender can bend at right angles to give you 6" x 6" cuts and it has a magnet on the cutting arm to secure the paper. The rotary blade snaps into place with no problem. The blade is replaceable. There is a grid on the face of the trimmer and a ruler both on the trimmer itself and the cutting mechanism, which can be raised with ease.
I was excited to add this rotary trimmer to my menagerie of paper trimmers. I have guillotine trimmers, regular paper trimmers from just a basic trimmer to ones with the fold- out ruler/guide. I thought this was going to be one of my favorites that I couldn't live without once I started using it. It isn't. Unfortunately, despite being pretty, this trimmer is underwhelming at best. The wheel could stand to be a bit smoother and less flimsy feeling. When you push down you can't necessarily tell when the blade is actually engaged/cutting With other cutters, this isn't a problem. The housing moves down enough so that you know the blade is engaged/cutting. While this trimmer has it's uses, I'm sure, I just can’t find what it can do that one if my other trimmers can do better. For the price, I'm sure you could find better but there are still worse on the market for both below and over the same price point. I've been using this trimmer for several days and I have yet to see, find, or feel a magnet.
I would recommend this product to those that do not need the ability to cut several pieces of paper/cardstock at once, those that just want to get an idea if a rotary trimmer is something they want to invest in, or those that already have a rotary trimmer and need this one due to the dimensions of the paper jt can cut or the folding ruler/guide feature for cutting 6x6 poeces of cardstock.
I didn’t “need” another trimmer, but I was was very excited about this 12” rotary trimmer (and being pink made it even mire irresistible ). Unfortunately, it broke the first time I finally used it. The “hinge” is poorly designed plastic C- connections on the moveable end. This is the part that broke the very first time I used the trimmer. No way to repair it….. money wasted.
I love this! Works well for my scrapbooking and i would definately recommend this.
I had a mini trimmer previously, and while it worked fine, I needed something larger to cut 12x12 paper to card size (my mini trimmer was 9 inches). There was a slight learning curve as this was my first rotary trimmer, but once I got past that it cut like a dream! I also love that the extension piece can come to an angle so you can cut perfect right angles.
