Contents:

  • Three 12” tear guides with six different styles of tearing edges
  • One refillable water pen

The 1/16” increments make it so easy to figure out where you are going to start and stop tearing. When tearing it will give your projects a torn look, not a fine cut straight edge; it is perfect for giving your crafts a unique look!

Features of the tear guides:

  • Six different tearing edges
  • Accurately measures in 1/16” increments
  • Transparent, making it easy to position and center your projects

    Sooo much fun to use

I purchased these for both my journaling and mixed media. I absolutely love the 6 options you have to tear for paper. The water pen did take a bit to get working. I did use the pen with heavier paper and it helps to tear a bit easier but these have been for me personally really fun use. I like to use torn pieces of paper in my journaling book so these have been great.

    Awesome Product

I LOVED these rulers! There was a slight learning curve to using them but once I got the hang of it, it saved me so much time distressing the edges of my cards and a LOT less messy too! I bought them for my distressed Christmas cards but I can see me using them all year long now! Great items!

After a few practice runs on scrap paper, I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Love the results! Adds fun shapes to my cards.

    great tool

I really like this tool! Before, when I wanted to create irregular borders in my papercraft, I worked with border scissors. That was OK, but only for small pieces. The Tear guide makes it possible to structure bigger pieces as well.

    Don't waste you money!

Even when using the water pen, still impossible to tear the lightest cardstock along the ruler design. Tears paper but does not tear along the design. Followed djrectilns on packaging. Very, very disappointed in this product!

    Tear guide

These tools offer a variety of tearing, while maintaining the integrity of the paper so it doesn't leave an edge with only the backing showing. Love it!

    Well Made

These tear rulers are very well made and work like a charm. They are not flimsy at all. I highly recommend.

Questions & Answers
  • I am a new card crafter. I purchased the Tear Guides and used them as directed. I am using regular card stock and the water pen. The edges of my tears are not smooth, they do not tear evenly when using the tear guides. Am I doing something wrong?   By: THEREAPATRICK (18-Jun-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • First off, I wonder what you mean by your tears not being smooth. Any tearing with these will produce a worn, or distressed effect to the paper. You need to apply pressure when holding the guide in place while you use the other hand to slowly tear, gripping paper between thumb and pointer finger, closely along the edge of the guide.

It works very well with a thinner scrapbook or designer paper that is dry. For heavier cardstock I use the water pen tracing along the edge and giving it a few seconds to soak into the paper. It leaves a thicker, rougher edge to one side, and a smoother, but rough edge to the other.

I wish I could upload photos to show you. If you want, you can contact me at [email protected] and I can send you the photos. By: pammiblueeyes (23-Jun-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Try using enough water to make the paper soft and press firmly on the tool while tearing slower along the edge. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it too. I hope this helps. Good luck!!! • What is the marker/pen they use in the video to score along the curvey guides? Thanks   By: barberac (13-Jun-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hi. It is a refillable water pen which is great when you are using heavier type paper or card stock. When following the curve or line of the guide it lightly (without too much pressure) wets the paper making it easier to tear the paper or card stock. Hopes this answers your question.
