  • Great but a few flaws

While I am overall happy with my purchase I think it is important to know two things about this machine

    1. You need to use a test sheet and lunch a few times in order to get the oil coating that’s on it off - it’s some type of black oil that comes off with the first few punches

2- this does not give a clean punch - while this is annoying seeing as things I mainly use it for my own use I can live with it but this can be a deal breaker for some

    We R Memory Keepers

Made my first album with the Heidi Swapp Cinch Bindery tool. It was so easy to use, just followed the instructions on the tool.

  • Great Addition to the Original

The HS Cinch has square holes which the original has the round holes. It has a clean look and "cinching" is still as easy! I love being able to choose the amount of holes to punch. The directions are easy to follow...a must have even if you have V1 or V2! I can now get rid of the other binding machine with the square holes :) YAY!!

    SO IN LOVE!!!

I was debating between this & the standard version & I'm so happy I decided to go with this one! Works just the same as the standard, except it has the square holes instead of the circle holes & the classic color scheme of Heidi Swapp, is totally worth it! :)

    It REALLY is a cinch!

I watched the Heidi Swapp video and bought this as a birthday treat and to make family gift books. Wow, I am so pleased with this purchase. It is well built and I expect it to last as long as needed. Heidi’s explanations of centering were very helpful. Easy to use and the results were even better than I hoped.
It makes my work look more professional and my daughter in law says it was the best gift she’s received from me.

    Love it!!!

I'm obsessed with this product. I was able to punch through 79pt chipboard!!! That's insane! I also love how small and portable it is. Lightweight and easy to put away without taking up a ton of space. Love the little elastic holder to keep the handle down when you're not using it. The hanger on the side makes it SO easy to put your notebook together. This is a 2:1 pitch cinch so make sure not to buy 3:1 pitch wires.

    Things to consider:
I will say that the punch is not completely clean even if I push the lever down a few times, but I personally don't mind it. I feel like it gives that handmade touch. You can easily take a craft knife and scrape away the access if you need to. Make sure you punch some test sheets before using for your projects, as there is a protective coating / oil on the punching blades. I also recommend test punching to make sure everything is centered. Once you find the center, it helps to make little pencil marks along the ruler for efficiency, so you don't have to keep finding where the center is each time.

For the price and in comparison to other cinches, I think this purchase is totally worth it!

Questions & Answers
  • I am purchasing a Cinch machine. Here's my question: WRMM makes three Cinch machines. What are the differences of these machines? I believe the blue one makes round holes and the yellow one makes square holes. Any other differences? Also, there is the Heidi Swapp Cinch machine. What's different about that one other than the color and does it make round or square holes? Also, do people prefer round holes or square holes? I'm trying to make a well informed choice. I want to be happy with my purchase. Thank you, in advance, for responding.   By: Prosperousvictor (15-Jun-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Hi there! The Heidi Swapp Cinch does square holes as well. I have that one and the blue round hole machine. They work the exact same. Really, the difference is whether you like the round or square look. I love to make my own notebooks and albums and I personally like the square hole option as it looks like I ended up purchasing the notebook (ask they come like that in the stores) even though I made it. Really, though it is personal preference. Plus, the Heidi Swapp version is in her signature colors. Which rocks ;) - Jen Evans Heidi Swapp Customer Service By: createoften (15-Jun-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • What is the largest size you can bind with this machine? I'm looking for something that will bind up to 8.5 x 11. And this doesn't look big enough to do that. Please let me know.

    • Hi, there is a slide our ruler on the side that allows you to punch holes and bind a project up to 12 inch. Follow the printed instructions on the base of the machine for the size you want. • Can anyone tell me what comes with this? I am new so unsure if I need to purchase other items to start.   By: Sweethrt3219 (16-Jan-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hi, this just comes with the machine to punch the holes and bind the wires. You will have to purchase the wires and any book or chipboard pieces for the cover, separately. • I wondered if I can store my Heidi Swapp cinch machine on its back rather than upright? It does not fit upright on the shelf where I would like to store it so I wondered if there would be anything wrong with laying it down on its back?

  • what size binders work with this machine? Do you need any extra add ons for other sizes? Does this machine work with all brands of binders?   By: candicran (08-Dec-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • So far the only binders I have used are from We R Memory Keepers. I have all sizes they have to offer and they all work great! No add ons needed for anything. The size of the binder coil all depends on what your making and how fluffy your embellishments are. I love mine! Best advice though always do a test paper before inserting your beautiful page you spent hours decorating. :) hope this helped. By: Trishavickers73 (10-Dec-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Boa tarde! Gostaria de saber quantas folhas no mximo podem ser encadernada?   By: User (04-Jan-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • That depends on the thickness of the paper you're binding, the thickness of the covers, how much dimension/embellishments your pages have and the size of the binding wires you use. The largest wire is 1.25 inches which can hold quite a bit. By: Aly Dosdall (05-Jan-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
