Great Little Machine for Paper Crafters

I just received my WeR mint sewing machine and used it for the first time. I'm a first time sewer and after reading through the instruction manual, I was able to sew easily onto cardstock! My thread broke at one point while sewing onto scraps and had to re-thread the upper thread though I didn't manage to get it properly in between the tension plates. It was easy enough to figure out with a little playing around and some minimal guidance from my mom who's worked with sewing machines for years now.

It's light-weight, making it ideal for multi-media crafters, especially if you are moving your various machines in and around your crafting space. I also like that there is a way to clean out the little pieces of paper that get punched out, which regular sewing machines don't have.

After playing on some scrap paper I finally decided to sew some pleated paper for an actual project and it turned out perfectly! I would highly recommend getting this if you love to sew on paper.

    • Yes, it will sew fabric and paper. There is no mention of a maximum weight of paper, but it's designed for paper crafters so I would imagine card stock would be fine. I know it will take all kinds of threads like metallic, thick floss, bakers twine, etc. Not sure about heavier, like chipboard. I haven't tried mine out yet! • Does this machine do other stitches, such as zigzag? Or is it only for straight stitching?   By: AudreyBond (27-Jun-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The machine has two different sizes of zigzags and two different spacings of straight stitching. It also has a arc (I guess you would call it) kind of like what I just put around what I just typed. Pretty cool. There are some other settings on the machine I have to admit I have not gotten too familiar yet. I'm having a great time on this machine expanding my scrapping skills. Just love it. A great gift/buy for the dedicated crafter/scrapper! By: shane1 (27-Jun-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • Can this machine be used to make doll clothes or clothing   By: cjessica.ruggles (10-May-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • I just got this machine from HSN (sorry SB.Com it was a mother's day present) and I would say no. It is more for paper crafting I think. My neighbor is a pro sewer and wouldn't use it for that.
You CAN sew on fabric, etc. but I don't think you would get the results you would like. I do LOVE this little lightweight gem, as I am only using it for paper crafting. It is a great little machine. By: shane1 (11-May-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
