How to use your Foil Quill Freestyle Pens:

  • Plug the pen's power cord into a battery back, computer USB port, or other USB power source
  • The light at the end of the pen will turn on when it's connected to a power source and your pen will begin heating up.
  • Choose your material or the surface you want to foil on and pick a brilliant color of foil (sold separately).
  • Place your foil on top of the material you're foiling and pull it taught, securing with low-tack tape or magnets (if applicable).
  • After a few minutes, your pen is ready to create magic.
  • Touch the pen tip to the foil and start writing or drawing to transfer the foil onto your surface.
  • When you're done, peel the foil away to see your amazing foiled creation!
  • Make sure you unplug your Foil Quill Freestyle Pen from the power source and allow to cool before storing.

How to use your Foil Quill Magnetic Mat with the Foil Quill Freestyle:

  • Place your paper or thin material on the mat using the gridlines to assist in the alignment.
  • Place your Foil Quill foil (sold separately) on top of the paper with the pattern side face up.
  • Use the magnetic strips to hold the foil taught over the material.
  • Start drawing or writing whatever you want!
  • TIP: You can even stamp on the foil to trace over it with the pen, use stencils to guide your design, or place a piece of printed paper on top to trace as well.

Safety Tips for your Foil Quill Freestyle Pens:

  • Always unplug your Foil Quill when it is not in use and never leave it unattended when it's on.

  • The Foil Quill was designed to be used with specific Foil Quill heat activated foil.
  • Be careful where you rest the pen tip when it's plugged in, heating up, or cooling down to avoid damaging your work surface or materials.

    I recently Saw this item and my husband purchased this "Foil Quill all in one kit" for me however I am hesitant to open it because I am not sure if it is the correct item. the box StateS " insert into cutt-g machine"?       If your cameo has a ratchet blade it should fit, I have heard on you tube somewhere (I've watched heaps of them) that it will fit all cameos. I have just ordered my foil quill.       I am confused. Scrapbook.com says this (freestyle) is not to be used with a cutting machine. All other answers say it should be used with a cutting machine.       The Heatwave Pen and the Foil Quill are two very different systems. The Foil Quill is meant to be used with your existing machine while the Heatwave Pen is a standalone product.
