This mat is perfect for using when I journal in my bible. It provides a waterproof surface if I'm writing with a pen, a firm surface to prevent the pen or pencil from poking through the paper, the ruler is great for measuring the size of paper I need. It isn't strong enough for making a flat stamping surface but is perfect for all other journaling activities.
I purchased two of these so I could protect both sides of the Bible page I am working on. They are an excellent fit and extend beyond the pages allowing me to use whatever media I chose without worrying about it going beyond the page I am working on.
Have already used several times. Great for lines as well as giving a platform for coloring.
Very useful in Bible journaling to keep things straight and protect other pages.
Works great as a bookmark or placeholder, or as a stiff surface when coloring, drawing and painting, and as a measuring tool to name a few. Fits nicely in my Bible.
I use this mat behind the Bible page I'm journaling on and the grid helps keep my writing straight and even. It also gives me a level surface for not only writing but any artwork that I might be adding. It also helps keep my page smooth when adding wet adhesive or paint until it dries. Since this mat comes in 2 sizes I was able to get the one that best fits my bible pages. This has made Bible journaling so much easier.
I really like it. Wish I had the larger one. Will order some day.

I can't tell if this is the mat that includes the cross design stencil on the side of it or not?
The one I own does not include a stencil. It is just the page with lines on it.
