One review mentioned that it's simply a block of wood and a piece of metal. That's true, but what you're paying for is having the block of wood and sheet of metal cut to size and having the woodcrafter cut the slit in the wood so the metal will slide in. It has to be at the right angle so the metal will slightly lean back for proper display.
To prevent the slit from becoming too tight be sure not to paint down inside of the slit and don't put paper on the part of the metal that fits down in the slit.

I purchased this magnet board to alter...and it was so much fun to do! I covered the metal board with Junkitz paper on the front and back -- painted the wooden block and added some ribbon and "instant gift"!! I found that the pre-cut groove in the board is a bit tight at first when adding the metal/magnet board...but it does fit! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit different to alter, that does not cost alot of money--and requires very little paper or
embellishments to decorate!
the product is fine, allows me to show a 12 x 12 page and put it on display....and then change it with little fuss. BUT BUT
it does not seem to be worth the price charged....it is a block of wood and a sheet of metal....
