      I have still had clear plate bowing with the use of the magnetic shim. I am not aware of a way to prevent the clear plate from eventually bowing. I know the clear plate doesn't bow quite as fast if you do as they suggest, which is turn the clear plate each time you use it. I turn mine over each time and that seems to keep the clear plate from bowing mush faster. I also use the Scrapbook.com Magic Mat when die cutting, so I am only using one clear plate instead of two.
