this product that I spent a whole day creating front card panels. Where have I been? How did I miss this stuff? It gives amazing results with minimal effort. After watching a You Tube video that showed how to use it in conjunction with a 3D Embossing Folder, I just had to try it out. And it's so handy to have the application sponge attached to the top. This is how I applied it. Emboss a piece of black cardstock using a 3D folder. A standard embossing folder works, but I found the 3D more impressive. Open the jar top exposing the built in sponge. Spritz it with water. Next rub the sponge over the Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Paste to pick up some product. Soon you will get to know how much to pick up. Start making small circles with the sponge on a craft mat. This was an important step that helped distribute the color. Every time I forgot to make the circles I deposited uneven patches of color on the cardstock, so don't skip this step. Now the exciting part begins. Lightly swirl one of the breathtaking colors of gilding paste over the raised areas of your cardstock. With a bit of practice it gets easier to add the shimmer to the high parts, but it looks great even if you color the background. Just have fun with different colors. I began with only three colors and couldn't believe the results on Black cardstock. And the same color mix looked different but equally beautiful on purple cardstock. The final step is polishing your piece with a cloth. It dries almost immediately and the sponge rinses ever so well with plain water or soap and water. My husband was impressed with my first card, suggesting this technique for next year's Christmas Card! Yes! I agree. I see many colors of this magical happiness in my future. It's just fun!
The shimmer is very nice but the product doesn't spread as easily as it does in the videos I have seen demonstrating it.
