Add some shimmer and shine to your next mixed media or altered art project using the Metallic 8" x 8" Kraft Stock by Tim Holtz for Advantus. The package includes 36 foil kraft stock papers from the Idea-ology Collection. These papers reveal a kraft foundation when you emboss or sand them.
This kraft metallic card stock is perfect for a project I am doing for halloween. I needed to make the front of my card look like a prison cell with a door. I ran this through with Tim Holtz's Foundry 3D texture fade (and a little spritz on the back with water so you get a smooth 3D effect as opposed to a cracked effect). The back of this paper is kraft so if you sand the front the craft will come through. I then put black paint over the top of texture and then wiped it off to look like an old, beat-up,heavy metal prison door. It's perfect. He also has another pack with a metallic black that I put silver paint on. Both look and worked out really well, just slightly different effects. I will say that this paper is a little thinner than the Metallic 3 set with the black metallic paper. It also has a different finish. This one crackles more and the black is smoother. Neither was better or worse, just different effects. Just depends on what color or effect your are looking for. I did see a suggestion about keeping this pack of paper in a plastic baggie. Over time the bottom corners tend to curl back and not stay flat. I am guessing that the kraft paper on the back picks up moisture in the air. As far as I can see, it doesn't effect how it works, just makes it harder to store flat.
So excited about this product! Saw it advertised in a card-making magazine and HAD to have it! Have only made one card with it so far, but I love the way it ups the quality of the card with just a slight border showing! So happy I found this!
This is exactly the paper I needed to create a card that I saw as a sample at a craft show!
The colors are beautiful, a true gold and silver. They will be put to good use
I used the gold recently to make a birthday card for my brother in law for his 70th birthday. He loved it!
Die cuts come out beautifully. Can't wait to use it for other projects, especially Christmas items.
Only used the silver once die cutting snow flakes and stacking so far so good they good great.
I needed metallic paper for my stash. No regrets.
