I bought the upper and lower case stamps as a set. It makes instant calligraphy for the rest of us. I love it for making cool envelopes by writing the recipients name using the stamps. You can make classy projects using your favorite quotes. I have the MISTI stamp positioner which makes using these a breeze. Some letters looked small but when used fit the font perfectly. You will actually use the stamps over and over. I have a gazillion stamps and these are already favorites!
This is a great stamp set to use when you need a more elegant option for creating your own sentiments. I pair it with the lower case Sophisticated Script to complete my elegant lettering stamp collection.
I also have the lowercase set, which you need to go with the caps.
It does take time to make a word look good and the best way is by stamping individual letters. The spacing doesn't really work creating by creating a word, which is too bad. :-( Therefore not great if you want to stamp a word multiple times. (The only reason this is 4 star)
But I guess it would be too hard to make the polymer that tight, so they could fit together. However, the set is made to fit together nicely when you do it letter by letter (and in a few different ways as any modern calligraphy style). Good impressions!
I was thinking about the smaller sized set, but because u have to do it individually, I personally would opt for a different solution.

Can all the letters of a word be placed on a large block for stamping rather than stamping each letter individually?

I was unable to use these for my project but I have a smaller lettering set and although the letters are the same depth, in order to connect the letters to look like script writing you would need to stamp each letter individually for best results. I hope this helps answer you inquiry.
