The color isn't a burnished or gold "gold" color, but more like a caramel color. Still, it's pure gold to me because it's exactly what I've been looking for in doing my holiday cards. The color works equally well for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas and, as one reviewer mentioned, it's easy to hide the tape behind the dots to give the paper even more dimension.
